coolest thing
Last day in Kauai, taking a morning swim, a little fish only 1 inch, finds us. Away from the reef, lost in open water. I have on a black bathing suit, refuge. The fish follows me around, blending in with my suit. We can't leave now, I have a fish!
Strangely affecting.

tv
To those who haven't watched the new Battlestar Galactica: you need to, then I won't be alone in my increased blood pressure and heart rate.
To those who recommended I watch it; Damn you! I should never start watching a series until it's completely done, over, off the air. Now I we have to wait for season three to be released (just pretend) and for season four to ever air!
Grrrrrr.
Still suffering from an inability to love any television that does not take place in space.
I do not fear my roomba.

overwhelming love
A Dedication to my Wife (or Husband)
To whom I owe the leaping delight
That quickens my senses in our walkingtime
And the rhythm that governs the repose of our sleepingtime,
The breathing in unison.
Of lovers whose bodies smell of each other
Who think the same thoughts without need of speech
And babble the same speech without need of meaning.
No peevish winter wind shall chill
No sullen tropic sun shall wither
The roses in the rose-garden which is ours and ours only
But this dedication is for others to read:
These are my private words addressed to you in public.

used in our wedding programs, and still kinda tears me up; I am such a newlywed.

new food experiment
I imagined dinner tonight as some sort of North African French immigrant feast.
Rosewater pasta with tuna mousse and cauliflower saute. Start the vegetables first, make the pasta and tuna while they cook.
Starch
Serve a small amount of each in a triangle on a large pasta bowl.

product lust
Something about gomeagan's jewelry calms me, like the blue-green tones in the Harry Potter and LOTR movies.
I'm instantly transported to some Highlands twilight.
Anybody want to get me a present?

you can't go wrong
These flavors are always delicious together, mix them all up to your taste and toss w/ salad, or pasta (gnocci would be great if you chop the asparagus into small pieces) or anything else your heart desires.
Oh yeah, don't forget to blanch the asparagus, unless you like a really green flavor and unique texture.

marriage
I've concluded the main thing about marriage is developing the same neuroses as your spouse. For me this is reflected by my constant irritation at everyone else on the planet, primarily the way they walk/ drive and especially how they ride their bikes.

sensibility
What is it about
this world that appeals to me so much?
It might just be aesthetics, since I can't stand pseudo-anarchists and self-righteous pretentious assholes, even if I am one.
Or that I'd love to be free and in motion, my body moving fast in any direction, hoping my mind will follow. Free to say fuck it all.
Check out the photography anyways, it's beautiful.

After the wedding
It's taking my brain a while to recover. What do I do with all that left-over (yet very focused) energy? I still have ideas, fabulous wedding related ideas.
There's always Trash the Dress
but it seems a little wasteful, as if throwing a party for so many people wasn't in the first place.
I came across this and love it.
I'm planning on reworking the dress every year, and taking arty photos with J.
Feeling inspired, as soon as I can get the house clean.
until December 15th 2007, wedding pics are here
